An easy and enjoyable way to get into competition target shooting
Hunter Field Target is a form of target shooting that any novice or experienced shooter can take part in. At Meon Valley, we have a large contingent of HFT shooters that utterly adore the sport.
With community driven regional competitions and club competitions throughout the year, HFT is a great way to dive into shooting with Meon Valley. All you’ll need to get started is a rifle and a scope. The rest will come in due course and our friendly community of shooters are always on hand to help.
Field Target
Use your scope to dial in for that precision shot
Field Target shooting is a unique form of target shooting that focuses on precision from a seated position. It’s a very exciting, very fun form of shooting that like HFT, has great community driven regional competitions.
Field Target is a growing discipline within Meon Valley, with former World Champions shooting on the club’s behalf. Not only is FT a precision discipline but you can also shoot it in a seated HFT style, making it ideal for those of you who’d like to mix it up.
Pistol
One of the most fun types of target shooting
Pistol at Meon Valley must be one of the most fun, enjoyable, and non-pressured shooting disciplines there is. We have multiple types of pistol competitions at the club, from challenge shoots to HFT Pistol and Standing Only. Our pistol contingent has been growing in recent times, showing a resurgence and in that, a wonderful community has formed. Pistols can be inexpensive and shot with or without scopes, but the fun either way, is utterly limitless.
Plinking
We've got what is probably the best plinking range in the region
Sometimes, you might not want to shoot competitively and for that, we have a brilliant plinking range. In fact, our plinking range, available to all full members seven days a week is one of the best you’ll find in the South. With targets out from 8-55 yards, an in door bench rest facility and on site toilets, you can sit and plink inside our hut without a care in the world and avoiding, if required, the elements. Plinking can be a really fun experience and at Meon, we know just how important that is.
